Questions to ask before buying a home in Abuja

Buying a home is one of the biggest decisions you will make. Whoever you buy from, these questions help you decide with confidence.

Who is the developer?

Ask for the company's full registered name and RC number, and check it against the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) register. Shungrila Estates Limited is registered as RC 491624.

What documents will I receive?

Ask which title and ownership documents come with the home, such as the Certificate of Occupancy, survey plan and deed of assignment, and when you will receive them. Ask for this in writing.

Can I see the site?

Visit in person. Look at the work already done, the roads and drainage, and how far the estate services are in place.

What is included and what is extra?

Ask what the price covers and whether legal, agency or service charges are separate.

Is everything in writing?

Keep receipts and signed agreements, and consider having your own lawyer review them before you pay.
